JOB TITLE

Chris Gouras is a leading expert in public funding and finance in Mississippi, having managed various state and federal grant projects for more than 25 years as a consultant. His grant experience encompasses nearly 200 public projects located throughout Mississippi and Florida. After Hurricane Katrina, Chris served as the primary grant consultant for many of the most impacted communities in Coastal Mississippi.

Chris’ role with clients includes:

Research and counsel in identifying funding sources, confirming eligibility compliance, and developing working relationships between government agencies/officials and clients.
Oversight of the preparation of the necessary application and the administration of grant policy and procedures including preparation of the Environmental Assessment and related documents.
Coordination of all grant activities and facilitation of communication between the parties involved; including engineers, architects, attorneys, local and state government officials, and regulatory agencies.

Chris received his Bachelor of Science Degree with an emphasis in Finance from Florida State University (1993) and his Master of Business Administration Degree from Mississippi College (1997). Chris began his career with Jimmy Gouras Urban Planning & Development in Vicksburg, MS and worked there from January 1994 to September 2005. He launched his own firm, Gouras & Associates in 2005 and became a leading consultant for publicly-financed projects in Mississippi in the years since. Chris is active in the community, volunteering his time on non-profit efforts related to outdoor recreation and stewardship in Mississippi.
